Carrie Underwood

In addition to all the rock and alternative music I mostly listen to, I also love country music. Suprise! Carrie Underwood is one of my favorties, my friends make fun of me a little bit because of how much I love her. I think it's cool that she started as just a normal girl who loves to sing and decided to tryout for American Idol and then won and is now famous. I have all of her albums and I love every one. I basically know every word to every song. I know that sounds a bit obssesive...but I like her lyrics and I like her voice! I'm really trying hard to think of a few of my favortive songs to share. Carrie Underwood is very girly and most of her songs is about boys.

I guess one of my favorties is Do You Think About Me, I really like it because it's so cute. Like when you like someone and you just feel so happy and bubbly that's what this song is about. She says
"Oh I, oh I, I’m not even trying
Oh I, oh I, but I can’t stop smiling
Oh I, oh I, it’s sending me flying"
^ Like don't you just feel like that when you're totally in love? (Not that I would know but I hope it would feel like that)

Carrie Underwood she gives advice to other girls on what they deserve and what to watch out for, through what I think would be her own experiences. And she seems to care about what she's singing about so it really touches my heart and I really love her music. Me and my step-sister listen to Carrie Underwood whenever we're finally together and we like to sing with her really loud, it's so great!

Beatles, Stones, Who

I really don't like the early Rolling Stones. His voice is so annoying I really can't stand it, and they should NEVER be compared to the amazing Beatles, in my opinion. I absolutely love The Beatles, since I just got a whole bunch of their albums, I've just been listening to them constantly :) Beatles For Sale, I thought, of course, that it was really good! It's depressing, but good. My favorite song is probably Eight Days A Week I've heard that songs many times before so it's really familiar. I love the singing and I like being able to sing along with it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KN-VA4Jg0-I

I really enjoyed The Who too, much, much better than the Rolling Stones. I liked My Generation, I think the instruments sound good, the lyrics and vocals are good, it just all around sounds good. The one thing I find weird, I haven't decided if i like it or not, but the way he says 'generation' it's wear he says it 'jeaneration'. Haha I don't know it kind of bothers me, but at the same time I think it sounds kind of cool.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xZOrWK6d4g

Atreyu

I, of course, heard of this band through my sister. Most of the bands I listen to come from her. I have really found to like them pretty recently. They're also one of those albums I could listen to over and over again and it would never get old. My two favortie songs of the album Lead Sails Paper Anchor is Blow and Lead Sails. I really like Blow because sometimes it just describes how you're feeling. When some jerk says something rude to you just blast this song. It makes you feel a little better, at least it makes me feel a little better.

And I like Lead Sails a lot because it's really calming, and relaxing. It's the softest song of the album and it's a really good ending to the CD. I recommend Atreyu for anyone who likes Bullet for My Valentine, My Chemical Romance, System of a Down, any bands like that. I think they're really good, and I hope maybe you do too :)

Hard Days Night and Rolling Stones

Personally, I liked the With the Beatles movie better, because it was unscripted, it was just the Beatles being the Beatles. It was funny and entertaining, although I think they were easier to understand in Hard Days Night. The grandpa was kind of weird to me, I don't know if it was really necessary to have him, but I guess he caused a lot of trouble. And the there was the Rolling Stones, I'm not really a huge Rolling Stones fan, they're okay, I don't really like the vocals. I just don't think they're that amazing. And I also don't think they should be compared to the Beatles, The Beatles were perfect, and just plain amazing, each of them were insanely talented, but no one in the Rolling Stones were that insanely talented. That's my own personal opinion. I had never really actually listened to Bob Dylan before, but I think I could really start to like him, most of his stuff hopefully, I'll have to give him more of a listen before I can really judge how good or bad I think he is.

Seether

My sister got me interested in Seether. I really like them, I've only heard one album, Finding Beauty In Negative Spaces. I like every song on the album, and I can listen to it over and over again without it growing old. My favortie song of the CD is Fallen. I think I really like it because it's about the modern concept of beauty.
The lyrics say:

"This generation won't forgive those signs of aging"
"They got injections for those facial lines (make amends)
Break out the scalpel keep the nose defined
(look again)
A crucifixion of the love we've known for ages (hey man i see them comin' again)
You're much too pretty you don't need your mind (just pretend)"

It's saying how we do all of these things, we've invented all of these things to keep ourselves from aging. It's so true! Think of all the women who wear pounds of makeup, and get face lifts and things when they're all old so they don't look so old. That's what this song is about. So many women see the super models on the magazines and think I have to look like that, I have to wear things so short you can almost see my butt, I think this song really captures the idea of beauty women have put on their selves. Go check it out!

You will like this band if you like, Nickelback, 3 Days Grace, 3 Doors Down, things like that. I definitley recommend this band to you!

THE BEATLES

The Beatles are freaking amazing. When I first came into the class I didn't really know The Beatles, but now listening to their albums and watching their movie. I LOVE THEM. They're just so perfect. Each of them have really funny personalities, and when you put them together they bounce of each others energy and they are hilarious. Especially when they called the guy a wanker, I thought that was just funny as heck! The guy didn't even notice. And I love how in the train on the way to D.C., who was it? I think it was Ringo maybe who was acting like a camera man, just taking pictures and carrying around a bunch of bags. That was really funny, and when one of them did the 'retard' clap. They were just so funny and very cute. I wish I had lived back then so that I could have seen them in person and could have been screaming and drooling over them. They're cute, they're funny, they're great singers, great at their instruments and amazing song writers. No matter which way you put it, they make the best, most legendary band EVER. I really hope the Beatles never go out of style, I will no doubt make my kids fall in love with them too.

Chevelle

I recently found the band Chevelle from my sister and let me tell you they are AMAZING! The lyrics, the instrumentals, the vocals, everything I just love. My two favorite songs are Comfortable Liar and Forfeit. I mostly like them for their lyrics. Comfortable Liar, it mostly explains itself, the lyrics repeat itself, but I like it because it explains so many people now-a-days. It's saying "You're such a comfortable liar" which to me means you can lie without any feeling, like it's nothing, it comes natural. That explains a lot of people.

Also, Forfeit. It just explains my mood sometimes. Some of the lyrics are
"I want to fight,
I want to fight,
I want to prove I'm right.
I want to fight,
I want to fight,
So turn and forfeit."

I like to listen to this song on those days when you're just annoyed, and angry. Give this song a listen, it's like yes, this is how I feel....

And my favortie line of the song is...
"find a way to relate,
Or just shut up."

I don't know why I like this line so much. I love how they sing it. This is defintley one of my favorite songs ever. Please go check it out. If you like Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Seether, or any bands like that, I think you'll like Chevelle too. They talk about real things in life, real feelings, and that's why I like it so much.

The Legendary Beatles

I personally really like The Beatles. Out of the albums Please Please Me and With The Beatles, I think my favorite would be With The Beatles. I really enjoy the cover of Roll Over Beethoven by Chuck Berry. I love the sound of their voices. On Please Please Me, Twist and Shout sounds soo cool, I love his voice even though I know it sounds like that because his voice is tired but I tink it is sounds amazing. The Beatles were amazing song writers. I mostly like their lyrics because I'm all about love and romance and that's a lot of what they write about. To me the Beatles are pretty Legendary. There was so much drama that went on in their lives which is really interesting to learn about. They're just all around cool guys making a cool band. One of the top bands in my book!
